Elements of Logo Design-Tree Cafe

The image above is the logo of the coffee shop, Tree Cafe. We can see an image of a tree made from coffee beans which clearly conveys the message. The way this logo is designed is very eye catchy as it is very unique given how it looks as if the tree that are made out of coffee beans is growing out of a coffee cup.

The use of color brown appeals to our senses as we usually associate brown color with delicious unroasted coffee beans.

Elements of Logo Design- Lester Beall

This logo is designed by Lester Beall who was best known for being one of the leading figures in modernist graphic design in the United States. We can see an image of a house and three leading lines pointing towards the simplistic image of an apartment. Lester Beall chose to use illustrative arrows in order to draw the viewer's attention to the general message. He also chose to use primary colors such as blue and red because it is better to keep the colors simple and not overcomplicate it and hence the it is more likely to be permanent on the viewer's minds. The message Beall's logo is conveying is simple: the Rural Electrification Administration will bring a bright future to the American Youth.

Elements of Logo Design-Herbert Lubalin

This logo is by Herbert Lubalin who was best known for his outstanding skills in innovative advertising. This logo is very extraordinary as it conveys the message through an image of a man's beard. Lubalin successfully manages to combine the writing and the image. Furthermore, the black and white contrast helps to confine the audience's attention. Although, the use of high contrast is an attention grabber, caution should be used as high contrast may also cause eye-strain for some. Although combining the shape of a beard and the text is a creative  and is successful at grabbing the viewer's eye, it is not easily readable.
